  17 June 2004 - The 92nd annual Conference of the International Labour Organization (ILO) concluded its work today following an extensive and constructive debate on the social dimension of globalization, as well as the adoption of a new plan of action designed to provide a fair deal for the world's migrant workers.

  16 June 2004 - The annual Conference of the International Labour Organization (ILO) today adopted a new plan designed to provide a fair deal for some 86 million migrant workers in the global economy.

  11 June 2004 - Child domestic labour is a widespread and growing global phenomenon that traps as many as ten million children or more - mostly girls - in hidden forms of exploitation, often involving abuse, health risks and violence, according to a new report issued today by the International Labour Office (ILO).

  09 June 2004 - In his first address to a United Nations organization since becoming President of the Government of Spain, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero today stressed the importance of giving a "social dimension to globalization" and establishing decent work as a universal goal.

  24 May 2004 - The world's fundamental international standard for combating the worst forms of child labour, International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention No. 182, has received its 150th ratification, putting it within sight of achieving universal ratification by all of the Organization's 177 Member States.

  21 May 2004 - Close to half of all migrants and refugees worldwide - or some 86 million adults - are economically active, employed or otherwise engaged in remunerative activity, according to a new report released today by the International Labour Office (ILO).
