First of a series of conferences organized by SafeWork

The 5th edition of the ILO Encyclopaedia welcomes Digital 2000 Productions to demonstrate distance learning for safety and health training.

GENEVA - The SafeWork Programme of the International Labour Organization (ILO) is happy to announce the first of its "5th Edition Sampler" Lectures:

"Safety and Health Training Videos: 21st Century Distance Learning"

The lecture will be given by Don Brown, CEO Digital 2000 Productions Stafford Texas and his staff who are visiting SAFEWORK to present the state of the art technology that will make the 5th edition of the ILO Encyclopaedia remarkably accessible to constituents and end-users throughout the world, free of charge.

This video technology will be used to train authors of Encylopaedia articles to prepare articles according to the guidelines established for this major reference work.

Following the lecture, there will be time for questions. The general public is welcome to attend.

The Encyclopaedia of Occupational Health and Safety is the ILO’s online flagship publication on all aspects of the multidisciplinary field of occupational safety and health. With over 1.000 articles, the fourth edition was produced with the collaboration of thousands of recognized experts from over 50 countries. "The fifth edition of the Encyclopaedia will provide users with information on occupational safety and health in a highly accessible format. We hope that it will help to reduce the unacceptable global toll of 2.2 million deaths and 430 million accidents and diseases each year", concluded Dr.Al-Tuwaijri.
